Hey everyone,
See this weeks schedule, below:
Monday 12/1 - Practice 6:30pm-8:30pm
Tuesday 12/2 - Practice 6:30pm-8:30pm
Wednesday 12/3 - Practice 6:30pm-8:30pm
*Thursday 12/4 - Home Meet vs Dickinson at 7pm
Friday 12/5 - Practice 6:30pm-8:30pm
Saturday 12/6 - TBD
*Thursday 12/4 will be our first swim meet of the season. For those who are new, I have details below on what to expect:
- Newark Swimmers are asked to arrive at 5:45pm for our 7pm swim meet. This will be standard operating procedure for our 7pm home meets, which is going to be the time for most of our home meets
- Newark will warmup at exactly 6pm, which is why we ask you to arrive at 5:45pm. We will exit the pool by 6:30pm at the latest. You will not have the opportunity to warm up if you miss our designated warm up
- If you CANNOT make the meet for whatever reason, you MUST inform the coaches AT LEAST 12 hours prior to the start of the meet. If you are RUNNING LATE, we ask that you PLEASE notify a team captain via call/text as soon as possible so that message can be relayed to the coaches
- Swimmers’ events will be notated on paper posted next to the Men’s locker room, which is also where our team will sit during the meet. The decisions as to which events you are swimming are final, so please do not give the coaches suggestions or recommendations as to what YOU want to swim at the meet
- Swimmers should all have goggles/caps, bathing suits, towels, etc with them when they arrive. It’s a good idea for everyone to have a backup/at least 2 pairs of goggles
- All swimmers will stay at the meet until the conclusion of the meet, regardless of whether or not you’re done swimming
- Parents/Spectators are asked to sit in the spectator area which is located underneath the Glasgow team record board at the pool. It’s a good idea to get there before 7pm when we are swimming larger teams that bring a large group of parents/spectators
- Parents/spectators are asked to please use the utility/single restroom located at the entrance to the pool. This is so we do not have adults entering the locker room while swimmers are changing, etc.
If anyone has any questions about practice or the meet, please feel free to email me at
Brett.Melcher@Christina.k12.de.usSee everyone tomorrow!
Best,
-Brett
