Hope everyone is doing well and off to a great start to the 2024-2025 school year.

This will be season 8 for me, and I’m very excited for it to start, so hopefully you are all excited for the season to start as well!

We will be holding a Swim Team Interest Meeting on 10/23 at 6pm via Zoom. I encourage you & your parent(s)/guardian(s) to join!

All communications regarding Newark Swimming & Diving will come through the Team App. I will keep everyone posted on a weekly basis in regards to practice schedule, meets, etc. If any information needs to go out urgently, it will also come through the Team App. For any questions about Newark Swimming & Diving, please feel free to contact Brett Melcher via email at brett.melcher@christina.k12.de.us

Practice will begin on November 11th, 2024. Newark Swimming & Diving will practice Monday-Friday from 6:30pm-8:30pm and “tentatively” on Saturday mornings at Glasgow High School. The pool is located in the back of Glasgow High School, in the building with glass windows by the big parking lot.

In order to get in the pool, YOU MUST have a 2024 DIAA Sports Physical completed and turned into the school nurse. Since we practice off-site (not physically at Newark High School), I will also need a copy of your physical (from you) in my possession before you get into the pool. Additionally, please have the Swim Team Contract (located in the documents tab) printed, completed, and turned into a coach on the first day of practice. Lastly, please have the Swim Team Booster Form (located in the documents tab) printed, completed, and turned into myself as soon as possible. This will give me the ability to order team shirts as quickly as possible.

The Newark Swim Team suits can be purchased through The Swim Shop, located at 2115 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. I will have a flyer produced and in the documents tab by 11/11.

For practice starting on 11/11, please arrive to the pool AT LEAST 10 minutes prior to the start of each practice. IF, for any reason a coach is not there, please wait in your vehicle until a coach is present. If you are being picked up from practice each night, you must remain in the building until your parent/guardian has arrived.
