Week of 1/29 + Blue Hen Conference Meet Updates

28 Jan by Brett Melcher

Hey everyone,

We have a big week ahead with our meet tomorrow vs Middletown, which is also our Senior Recognition meet, and the Blue Hen Conference Championship Meet on Saturday 2/3.

For the meet tomorrow (Monday), please arrive by 5:45pm so we can take a team picture! If everyone isn’t there to take the picture before warmup at 6pm, we will have to take it after you’ve gotten in the pool for warmup. The meet will start at 7pm.

Schedule for this week is as follows. Please note we will start ending practice early in anticipation of the BHC Meet on Saturday:
Monday 1/29 – Meet vs Middletown. Arrive at 5:45pm, Warmup at 6pm, Meet starts at 7pm.
Tuesday 1/30 – Practice 6:30pm-8:15pm
Wednesday 1/31 – Practice 6:30pm-8:15pm
Thursday 2/1 – Practice 6:30pm-8pm
Friday 2/2 – Practice 6:30pm-8pm
Saturday 2/3 – Blue Hen Conference Meet.

BHC MEET NOTES:
- NEWARK warm-up will be during warm-up 3 of 4, which means we don’t have to be there bright and early!!! Warm-up 3 will be from 8:25am-8:45am. This means I will have you standing on the pool deck at 8:20am, which means you need to be there no later than 8am. All teams will sit in the McKean Gym throughout the meet. Please place your things down by the area labeled “NEWARK”. Your coaches will be there before 8am so we will not be hard to find :)
- The meet timeline is 9:10am-3pm. Parents/Guardians/Spectators NOT volunteering will need to purchase tickets at this link: https://my.hometownticketing.com/agency/9c0a6a58-3e6e-4fe6-93d7-a96cc8bea1f2
- Parents/Guardians/Etc. that reached out to me about volunteering, thank you! I have the volunteer assignments below:
- Brian Powers – Lane 3 Timer – 200 Medley Relay through 50 Free
- Renee Richards – Backup Timer – 200 Medley Relay through 50 Free
- Andrea Bock – Lane 5 Timer – 100 Fly through 200 Free Relay
- James Heiger – Lane 6 Timer – 100 Fly through 200 Free Relay
- Amy Shober – Runner – 100 Fly through 200 Free Relay

All volunteers will need to report before start of the meet so the officials can run you through the instructions for the meet. I’ll either be on the pool deck or in the gym with the kids so just look for me/have them let me know you’re here and I can make sure you’re all set!

Please let me know if anyone has any questions about the senior recognition meet tomorrow, practice this week, or the Blue Hen Conference Championship Meet on Saturday.

Thanks!

-Brett
