Hey everyone,

Hope you’re all doing your best with finals!

Great job to everyone at our meet last night vs Odessa HS. Had a lot of good swims which great to see given that we haven’t been practicing a whole lot lately due to the weather. Please see attached results.

Just a reminder, for the rest of the week we will practice 6:30pm-8:30pm Tuesday-Friday and still TBD on timing for Saturday.

Looking ahead to next week, we will have a home meet on Monday 1/29 vs Middletown HS. This meet will be our Senior Recognition. Seniors, please print and complete the attached Senior Bio. This will be read during the break at the meet on Monday.

Finally, the Blue Hen Conference Championship meet is on Saturday 2/3 at McKean HS, starting at 9am. All Newark Swim Team members will be participating in this meet. Once I have the warmup schedule, I’ll let you all know what time you have to arrive at McKean ( it’ll be bright and early :) ).

Parents/Guardians, it is asked that each team provides up to 6 volunteers to help during the meet. It’ll mostly be timing and helping with ready benches in the gym (they’ll coordinate so you don’t miss your child’s races). PLEASE reach out to me if you would like to volunteer at the Blue Hen Conference Championship Meet (brett.melcher@christina.k12.de.us) no later than this Friday 1/26. For parents/guardians/family/friends that cannot volunteer, a ticket website link will be posted, and you will have to purchase the limited ticket availability in order to access the seating at McKean. More updates will come once I have more info!
